CSU is launching a new boutique wine range, the official launch is 22nd March, 2017. The focus is on producing quality wine which makes the most of the regional characteristics of fruit sourced from premium NSW wine grape growing regions. CSU aims to draw on expertise of students and alumni in growing the grapes and making the wine.
The wine will be available at the University’s hosted events, sales through the Cellar door and online with a focus on alumni, staff, students and wine club.
The varieties for the Boutique range in 2016 vintage are Shiraz, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo and Tempranillo. Campbell Meeks, our Winemaker has used some interesting techniques, the batches are smaller and we can’t wait to share them with you. The state of the art equipment in the recently refurbished boutique winery, combined with some careful wine making, have enabled the production of wines which are complex but still retain the fruit characteristics typical of the respective regional styles.
Grapes have been sourced from growers who have a strong connection to the University, including a Tumbarumba grower who has been supplying CSU for more than 25 years.
